07 JAN 99: Australia also at Men's Juniors
 Australia will represent the Oceanian continent at the 1999 Men's Junior World Championships in Qatar too. During the continental qualification held in Mittagong (New South Wales) on 11/12 December 1998 Australia clearly beat only co-competitor New Zealand twice, 32-23 and 40-23. After the women's and men's national teams the men’s juniors are the third Australian team to have secured a WC ticket. Thus the following participants have been determined so far for the title matches in Qatar:
Men’s Juniors QAT (22/8-5/9/1999 Doha)

Asia: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait
Africa: Egypt, Tunisia, Angola, Ivory Coast
Europe: Denmark, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Spain, Sweden (Another six participants from Europe will be determined during qualification tournaments in April.)
Oceania: Australia
Panamerica: (Panamerica's two places will be determined during the men's junior championships in Puerto Rico in March.)

For the Women's Juniors World Championships in China the situation currently presents itself as follows:
Women Juniors CHN (1-15/8/1999 / Guangzhou / Canton)

Asia: Korea, Kazachstan, Japan, Chinese Taipei
Africa: Angola, Congo
Europe: Romania, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey, Spain (another seven participants from Europe will be determined during qualification tournaments in April.)
Oceania: (Oceania's single place will be determined during the continental qualification.)
Panamerica: Brazil, Canada
